About The Role

• Approach: Building great products, delighting customers, simplifying complex problems.
• Design Team: Leads the design process from discovery to delivery with a holistic view of user experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners, Engineers, Data Scientists, and other colleagues in cross-functional teams.
• Problem Definition: Define customer and business problems.
• Metrics: Identify key project metrics and take ownership of their success.
• Research: Conduct research to achieve complex company goals (e.g., launching in new territories, offering new products).
• Design: From wire-framing to designing end-to-end flows and prototypes, ensuring designs are simple and elegant.
• User Testing: Run user testing workshops and guerrilla testing.
• Implementation: Iterate, implement with the technical team, and present final solutions during design reviews.
• Continuous Improvement: Review release performance, identify learnings, and enhance designs.
• Design System: Utilize and contribute to the design system.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years in designing complex commercial apps in-house.
• Portfolio: Examples of product design work.
• Design Skills: Across iOS, Android, and web platforms.
• Product Strategy: Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and articulate design decisions.
• Technical Understanding: Ability to understand technical implications of design decisions.
• Ownership: Take ownership of the design process and work independently.
• UX Focus: Strong understanding of human behavior and UX principles.
• Visual Design: Clean visual design sense with skills in typography and grids.
• Problem-Solving: Enjoy solving problems and being challenged.
• Continuous Learning: Constantly grow personally and with the team.

Nice to Have

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Programming: Experience in programming and ability to code simple prototypes.
• Design Systems: Experience in designing and maintaining cross-platform design systems.
• Startup Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
