Your Role:

  • Seeking an Engineering Hub Manager for the Dubai HQ Engineering team.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of secure and robust payment processing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create unique experiences for Tamara users.
  • Manage dynamic, cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, analysts, and product experts.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:

    • Inspire and motivate a team of 30+ Engineers in multiple squads.
    • Set team goals aligned with the company vision and strategy.
    • Build a healthy environment of trust and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  2. People Development:

    • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and challenging.
    • Assess and manage performance, attracting, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
  3. Technical Ownership:

    • Lead technical discovery and guide technical decision-making.
    • Ensure the right balance between delivery and technical excellence.
  4. Project Management:

    • Break down complex topics into smaller, manageable tasks.
    • Manage internal and external stakeholders' expectations.
    • Identify, manage, and communicate risks.
  5. Team Performance:

    • Ensure alignment of team objectives with organizational goals.
    • Measure performance indicators and continuously improve team effectiveness.
  6. Team Building:

    • Instill a collaboration- and knowledge-sharing culture.
    • Manage the team's budget to achieve these goals.
  7. Collaborate with Peers:

    • Work closely with Engineering Managers, architecture board, and the VP of Engineering.

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a Senior Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering role.
  • Comfortable serving in a manager-of-managers capacity.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members.
  • Software development background with expertise in relevant technologies (e.g., Java, PHP, Go).
  • Understanding of modern development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, and containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Ability to make strategic decisions aligned with business goals.
  • Experience in attracting, retaining, and developing exceptional engineering talent.
  • Background in Payment, Banking Systems, or Shopping.
