Responsibilities

Specification Development:

• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to develop comprehensive specifications for materials, finishes, and construction methods.
• Ensure specifications align with design concepts, client requirements, and project goals.
• Research and recommend materials and products that meet aesthetic, functional, and performance criteria.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand design intent and project requirements.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate products and materials for compatibility with specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support to design teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Documentation and Communication:

• Prepare detailed specifications, including drawings, schedules, and material lists, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Communicate specifications effectively to internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Review and revise specifications as needed to accommodate design changes or client feedback.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure that specifications meet quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with specifications during construction.
• Address specification-related issues promptly and collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in specification writing and development within architectural or design consultancy firms.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, finishes, and building codes.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant technical tools.
